Presented is a truly remarkable aggregation of really nice condition 1970 Topps Baseball, an enormous pile of more than 4,000 cards found in a striking mostly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint or better condition, with some below and a truly amazing number of Near-Mint to Mint monsters. In what is arguably the most condition-sensitive issue Topps ever produced, the offered cards boast wonderful color and gloss to complement the blazing black borders, all put to good effect in an array with more than 150 Hall of Famers, about 200 cards from the difficult high-number series and a level of duplication, obviously, that has to be seen to be believed. Four cards from the high series have been third-party slabbed and graded, offering a nice hint of the kind of extraordinary condition of so many of the raw brethren: No. 657 Padres Team and Nos. 671, 695 and 703 are all found in GAI 8 holders. With this impressive pile in tow, the winner will be in a position to launch on a huge number of sets or upgrade a similar number of existing ones. The listing that follows provides a good glimpse into the enormity of the enterprise, with Hall of Famers and major stars shown, along with a good sampling of some of the staggering duplication, at a minimum of anywhere from six to 10 cards for most of the players involved. The breakdown: No. 1 Mets Team (2), 17 Wilhelm (4), 21 Blue Rookie (4), League Leaders (16), 128 Series Two Checklist (11), 148 Weaver (2), 160 Niekro (3), 180 John (5), 181 Anderson, 190 Torre (4), World Series Subset cards (27), 220 Carlton (2), 231 Tiant (6), 240 Jenkins, 244 Series Three Checklist (11), 250 McCovey (2), 290 Carew, 291 Durocher (10), Playoffs Subset cards (60), 315 Aparicio (4), 321 Piniella (4), 340 Conigliaro (4), 343 Series Four Checklist (26), 346 Schoendienst (3), 360 Flood (10), 370 Harper (10), 373 White (25), 375 Callison (22), 376 Phillips (24), 378 Davenport (22), 370 Perez (13), 383 Stanley (15), 385 Scott (11), 387 Orioles Team (11), 390 Willie Davis (17), 394 Hodges (16), 396 Blair (15), 399 Yankees Team (11), 400 McLain (17), 403 Bunning (21), 407 Watson (27), 409 Tolan (25), 410 Powell (17), 411 Dodgers Team (15), 415 Javier (18), 425 Bonds (16), 426 Rigney (21), 428 Buford (23), 432 Series Five Checklist (15), 436 Phillies Team (3), 440 Mazeroski (15), 442 Mauch (11), 448 Astros Team (16), 449 Palmer (16), 470 Stargell (4), 472 Braves Team (10), 501 White Sox Team (10), 502 Fingers (6), 509 Expos Team (9), 510 Oliva, 520 Horton (10), 522 Angels Team (9), 534 Twins Team (13), 537 Morgan (12), 542 Series Six Checklist (20), 544 Reds Team (4), 549 Cardinals Team (3), 550 Howard (5), 555 Cepeda (3), 579 Tigers Team (3), 588 Series Seven Checklist (11), 593 Cubs Team (5), 608 Pirates Team (3), 657 Padres Team (3), 676 Senators Team (7), 696 Giants Team (3) and 713 Pilots Team (2).
