Here is one of the more remarkable piles of vintage Topps football cards that we've encountered, an array constituting several near and partial sets and often providing duplication that touches upon some of the biggest names of the era. It is a grouping that could provide an excellent launch on more than a dozen complete sets or in many cases upgrade existing ones. Here’s the breakdown (numbers are approximate – all issues are Topps): 1970 (175) – mostly Very Good to Excellent, with some above and below the range, with 21 Hall of Famers; 1971 (216) – Very Good to Excellent, some above and below, with 25 HOFers; 1972 (160) – same description, 14 HOFers; 1973 (430) – same description, 30 HOFers, plus 26 Team Checklist (most are mk); 1975 (420) – Very Good to Ex-Mt, with some below, mostly different with dozens of HOFers, including Harris, Bradshaw, Simpson and Tarkenton; 1976 (450) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below and dozens of Hall of Famers, including Staubach, Tarkenton, Csonda, Sabler, Swann and Harris; 1977 (460) – same description, with dozens of HOFers; 1978 (480) – Near Set, with Griese, Bradshaw, Csonka and Stabler; 1979 (435) – Near Set, same description; 1980 (470) – condition 1980 forward is broadly Near-Mint or better, with some below – Near Set, dozens of HOFers, including Simms Rookie, Anderson, Dorsett, Csonka, Bradshaw and Largent; 1981 (470) – Near Set, many HOFers, including Monk and Winslow Rookies, Payton, Stabler, Largent, Fouts, Harris, Plunkett, Simms, Lofton, Dorsett and Bradshaw; 1982 (470) – Near Set, Taylor Rookie, Stabler, Bradshaw, Harris, Fouts, Simms, Lott Rookie, Monk and Montana In Action; 1983 (300); 1984 (300); 1985 (270); and 1986 (330).
