Here’s an eclectic assortment of mostly baseball with numerous Hall of Famers and stars and with such a broad array of different issues that it edges up to being a type-card bonanza, with sets ranging from the 1947-66 Exhibits, 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats, 1961 Nu-Card Scoops and 1970 Topps Supers to Topps Push-Pull, 1958 Hires Root Beer, 1971 Milk Duds and a host of others. It’s the kind of unusual auction lot that begs for a good deal of close examination to unearth all the value, but ultimately worth the effort. Here’s the breakdown – 1947 Exhibit Supply Co. cards (27) – mostly Fair to Good, with a couple above, including Joe DiMaggio (authentic – ½-inch narrow side to side), Mathews (Good), Doby (VG-Ex), Adcock, Marion, Dom DiMaggio, Elliott (2), Holmes (3), MCormick (2) and Cavaretta (4); 1954 Realistic Games Bobby Shantz Baseball Cards (9) – Ex-Mt; 1958 Hires Root Beer (6) – mostly Good to Excellent, with Podres, Worthington, Zimmer and Nieman (3); 1960 Fleer Baseball Greats (7) – mostly Very Good, with Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Ott, Klein, Feller and Bender; 1961 Nu-Card Scoops (13) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, including No. 416 Maris/Mantle, No. 421 Musial and No. 467 DiMaggio; 1965 Topps Push-Pull cards (2) – Very Good, Truman/Ike and Stengel; 1966 Coke Caps (13) – Good to Very Good; 1968 Topps Deckle Edge (7) – Excellent, with Marichal, McCovey and Wilhelm; 1970 Topps Supers (3) – Yastrzemski and Frank Robinson – Ex-Mt and Stottlemyre – Excellent; 1971 Milk Duds (5); 1980s and beyond (35) – mostly Topps, including Rose (3), Ripken (3), Bench (2), Schmidt (7), Yount (3) and Clemens (11); plus an assortment of miscellaneous (22) from three major sports, 1976 Hostess, autographs and insert posters.
