Presented is one of the more unusual auction lots you might encounter, an enormous accumulation of lower-grade cards from 1963 Topps, with often breathtaking duplication even among some important minor stars from that fabled issue. The array is confined to the first three Series from 1963, the sole exception being a welcome one with 20 cards from the issue’s difficult high number Series Seven. The group is broadly Good to Very Good, with some cards above and below the range; there are more than 100 Specials, including 40 League Leaders, 43 Checklists, 23 World Series subset cards and seven Team cards. Here’s a breakdown of some of that breathtaking duplication: Gibbon (53), Schmidt (47), Essegian (45), Bragan (44), Thomas (41), Clinton (38), Bolin (37), Maxvil (36), Lopat (36), Hansen (33), Moore (33), Cunningham (32), Burnside (32), Bruce (32), O'Toole (31), Veale (30), Fox (28) Tebbetts (28), Umbricht (28), Lau (26), Osinski (26), Hickman (24), Hamilton (24), Scheffing (24), Piche (24), Keane (23), Alusik (23), Koonce (22), Pierce (22), Anderson (22), Smith (21), Gonzalez (21), Romano (19), Brosnan (18), Camilli (18), Belinsky (17), Williams (15), O’Dell (15), Keough (14), Simmons (14), Fornieles (14), Power (13), Ramos (12), Alston (7) and Hubbs (6).
