Here are five pristine examples of one of the most popular Topps baseball issues of the 1980s, the colorful and nostalgic 1983 set that boasts the top Rookie class of the era. The five sets (792 cards each) are uniformly Near-Mint or better, with a host of Near-Mint to Mint blazers, with most revealing the coveted “vending bend” that bespeaks of uncirculated cardboard and boasting of exceptional color and gloss and super-clean card backs. Key Hall of Famers and stars generally conform to the wider condition range; of the key Rookies from the group, two of the Boggs Rookies are Excellent, two Gwynn Rookies are Ex-Mt and VG-Ex and one Sandberg Rookie – Ex-Mt-Plus.
