This is an Oakland A’s green knit jersey worn by Coach George Mitterwald, with yellow/white/yellow braid V-neck collar and sleeve-end accents, with “A’s” sewn on the front in white-on-yellow tackle twill. Mitterwald’s No. 44 is on the back in the same configuration. Tail tagging swatches of “1979, McAuliffe, Washing Instructions and Size 44” are sewn in tandem. The NOB has been removed; faint outline remnants remain. Shirt shows solid wear to A’s and the numerals revealing extensive surface wear and some rippling.
