Here’s a nifty piece likely linked to standout defensive back Harry Howard, who played two seasons in the WFL in Chicago before finishing his career one year later with the New York Jets. This attractive green-mesh jersey has crossover V-neck collar and double-ply shoulder panels. It has screened-on sleeve striping and numeric and NOB identifiers, with NOB on a it cotton plate. Red Fox labeling appears lower center-front, with Size XL and DeSoto, Texas. Shirt reveals solid collar wear and turf burns on the shoulders. Listed as No. 28, with no other Howard rostered, it is likely he preferred No. 27 and asked for the switch when it became available. A strong safety and punt returner out of Ohio State, Howard had a team-leading seven interceptions for The Fire in 1974 and one for The Wind a year later.
