November 17, 2022: Fall Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/17/2022
Offered is an impressive grouping of a dozen cards from the fabled 1933 Goudey Baseball issue, probably the most popular and coveted set from the Depression era, with cards found here in a condition range fairly typical of how these classics are typically encountered in mature collections, largely Fair to Very Good. Included in the mix are two cards from the multi-sport Sport Kings issue – No. 10 George and No. 19 Shore – both Authentic/Poor. The 12 cards from 1933 Goudey all have a punch hole at the same location near the bottom of the cards, indicating the cards had likely been used as file copies in some fashion. The grades listed below for the cards ignores the punch hole, which technically would prompt a grade of Fair or possibly Poor. The breakdown: No. 18 Ruel – Very Good, 19 Dickey – Fair, 42 Collins – Good, 43 Fonseca – VG, 44 Bottomley – VG, 45 Benton – VG, 47 Allen – Fair, 47 Manush – Fair, 49 Frisch – Fair, 59 Miller – VG-Ex, 62 Martin – VG and 75 Kamm – VG.
