November 17, 2022: Fall Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/17/2022
This offering is in a nice, collectible condition, generally Good to Ex-Mt, with about a dozen cards below and the emphasis clearly at Very Good to VG-Ex. The key No. 82 Mickey Mantle card is found in a PSA Authentic holder with a qualifier as “Altered.” This lot presents the rare opportunity to pick up what is certainly the second-most important issue of the 1950’s, and arguably one of the most difficult Topps issues ever in terms of condition sensitivity because of the full-bleed color panels at the bottom of the card. Overall, it comes out to 15 percent Ex-Mt, 22 percent Excellent, 42 percent Very Good to VG-Ex and 16 percent Good, with just 12 cards below to Fair. A listing of the missing numbers appears at the end of this entry.
