Presented here is a nice grouping of cards from the 1958 Topps Baseball issue, the company’s second effort in the now-standard 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch size and with a unique (at the time) design component that produced blazing color backgrounds that came to define the issue. This array represents just under ½ of a complete set and includes nine Hall of Famers, dozens of stars and minor stars, All-Stars (7) and Specials. It is found here in generally Good to Excellent condition, with some below and quite a few reaching above to Ex-Mt. The array – with just a whisper of duplication - offers a consistent presentation, with bright, vivid background colors and good gloss. The Hall of Fame lineup includes Aparicio, Bunning, Herzog, Mazeroski, Reese, Roberts, Slaughter, Spahn and Wynn; there are also 10 team cards included in the mix, along with the Tigers’ Big Bats Combination card.
