Presented is an attractive example of perhaps the most difficult, condition-sensitive baseball card issue that Topps ever produced, the black-bordered 1971 Topps set that remains one of the true classics for serious collectors. This set is in essentially Excellent to Ex-Mt condition, with some above and below the range, including quite a few Near-Mint cards. The offering is fairly typical in terms of condition of how this particular set is found in older collections, with a nice uniform presentation. The breakdown of keys and condition anomalies: No. 1 Orioles Team – Very Good, 5 Munson – Good, 20 Jackson – VG, 26 Blyleven Rookie – VG, 45 Hunter – Ex-Mt-Plus, 50 McCovey – VG, 55 Carlton – Good, 65 Leaders – Fair, 72 Leaders – Fair, 100 Rose – VG-Ex, 110 Mazeroski – VG, 117 Simmons Rookie – Ex-Mt, 160 Seaver – Fair, 180 Kaline – Ex-Mt, 183 Hodges – VG, 250 Bench – VG-Plus, 264 Morgan – VG-Ex, 290 Oliva – Good, 341 Garvey Rookie – Good, 380 Ted Williams – Ex-Mt-Plus, 384 Fingers – Good, 400 Aaron – Fair, 450 Gibson – Good, 483 – Fair, 513 Ryan – Ex-Mt-Plus, 525 Banks – VG, 530 Yastrzemski – Ex-Plus, 600 Mays – VG, 619 Checklist – VG (mk), 625 Brock – Fair, 650 Allen – VG, 709 Baker/Baylor Rookie – VG-Ex and 630 Clemente – VG.
