This is a charming artifact from perhaps the most beloved spokesman for the Yoo-Hoo Chocolate Drink folks, a Yogi Berra Clock that is in wonderful condition, without major incident and with the clock motor still working after six decades. Yogi, linked with the, uh, delicious chocolate concoction since the 1950s, had appeared on bottles and countless promotional packing pieces, so a graduation to an impressive 12-by-29-inch (four inches deep) showpiece clock was only natural. The Hall of Fame catcher is portrayed in a brown line artwork on the left side of the piece, with a square-faced clock on the right side. Berra’s advocacy of the quirky pasteurized drink was genuine and lasted decades: he ultimately became a vice president of the company and owned a large amount of stock. In his autobiography, Berra intoned: “One time I was in the office and the phone rang – I always answer a ringing phone – and the woman on the other end asked if Yoo-Hoo was hyphenated. I said, ‘No ma'am, it’s not even carbonated.’”
