The popular 1963 Topps Football issue is presented here in a very handsome near set that is in basically Excellent to Near-Mint condition, with about a dozen cards below that range, mostly to Very Good. It comes out to approximately 8 percent Near-Mint, 61 percent Ex-Mt and 22 percent Excellent, a striking presentation that is quite a bit better than this difficult issue is typically encountered in mature collections. About 1/3 of the near set have the kind of centering that might typically prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation. The four missing numbers: No. 1 Unitas, 14 Brown, 36 Lions Team and 82 Lilly Rookie.
