Presented is a truly spectacular home jersey from one of the iconic American Basketball Association franchises, the Kentucky Colonels, toward the close of the ABA tenure before the merger that would alter the NBA landscape. The white-mesh shirt boasts the broad blue/red knit stripes on neck, arm trim and side panels, making one of the more attractive jerseys from the era. All identifiers are sewn on in blue-on-red tackle twill on a jersey that combines nice wear with a beautiful style overall. The Rawlings Size 42 appears in green straight stitching on a flap tag with 1-inch Extra Length on the outer front right tail. Averitt was a standout shooting guard with the Colonels and San Antonio Spurs and later with NBA’s Buffalo Braves and the New Jersey Nets after the merger; he finished a five-year career with a 12.1 ppg average, with an ABA title from the 1975 season.
