Here are three O-Pee-Chee Hockey sets looking very much like O-Pee-Chee sets do when they have managed to avoid much in the way of handling, winding up largely Near-Mint to Mint blazers, with simply outstanding color and gloss and those elegant, super-clean card backs. All three sets – complete at 264 cards – can lay claim to that lofty description, with the 1985 issue particularly notable from crisp cream-color and brown card backs, albeit with some of the typical O-Pee-Chee off-centers and a handful of miscuts. For those keeping score at home, that’s almost 800 hockey cards looking precisely the way that God, or at least the Prime Minister, intended.
