Offered is an attractive example of the popular Cardinals Bobbin Head Doll from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series, a Near-Mint specimen featuring the famed Redbird mascot that boasts exceptional color and gloss. The six-inch, round-base figure features an outstanding paint job, exhibiting virtually none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures, including to the notoriously condition sensitive gold base. There is some loss to the “StL” decal on the cap that is visible only with the most diligent effort; the same observation pertains to the tiniest of nicks to the delicate “Cardinals” decal at the front of the shirt. The original box with color sticker on the top is 3 ¼-by-7 ¼ inches (3 ¼ inches deep) is in Ex-Mt condition, without significant issue and only minimal fraying of the delicate cardboard edges.
