Here are three important Topps football sets from the close of the decade of the 1970s, sets (528 cards each) that provide a glimpse into the heyday of the expanding NFL behemoth. In all three instances, the Hall of Famers, Rookies and stars broadly conform to the wider condition range, with a handful of exceptions noted below. The 1977 set is primarily Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below mostly to Excellent, with some of the typical centering concerns and the No. 360 Payton card absent; the No. 380 Casper Rookie is Very Good and three of the Team Leaders cards have been marked. The same condition description applies to 1978, with the No. 200 Payton card VG-Ex and the No. 315 Dorsett Very Good. The 1979 set is a blazing Near-Mint to Mint, missing the No. 480 Payton.
