Presenting is a truly breathtaking accumulation of pristine Topps football cards from 1979, 1980, 1982 and 1983, cards that are for the most part Near-Mint or better blazers, with a similarly inspiring number of Hall of Famers, stars and Specials. This is an absolutely massive hoard that obviously boasts significant duplication, often involving the great Hall of Famers and biggest stars of the era, plus key Rookie cards and similarly staggering numbers of the important Specials in the various sets. As noted, the cards are typically Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum and simply sensational colors and gloss; that sterling evaluation is only modestly amended with the 1982 Topps cards, details later in this entry. This is a uniform and consistent offering, with generally good centering and vivid colors and gloss, along with a striking overall presentation of seemingly uncirculated cards, with no discernible difference between the key Hall of Famers and the rest of the array. The breakdown (numbers are approximate): 1979 Topps (1,150) – with nearly 100 Hall of Famers, including Staubach (3), Bradshaw, Griese (4), Harris (4), Shell Rookie (9), Newsome Rookie (4), Greene, Riggins (2), Stabler (3), Branch (3), Hendricks (4), Blount (3), Theismann (5), Randy White (2), Stenerud (3), Selmon (6), Fouts (5), Krause (4), Zorn (4), Dwight White (3), Anderson (6), Hannah, Brazile, Carson, Joiner, Largent (3), Greenwood (2), Biletnikoff, Marshall, Lambert and Eller, plus 47 Team Leaders, six League Leaders, four Record Breakers and two Checklists; 1980 Topps (500) – with more than 40 Hall of Famers, including Griese, Bradshaw (2), Harris, Mathews Rookie (8), Theismann (7), Fouts (9), Little (3) and White (10), plus two dozen Team Leaders, two League Leaders, 18 Super Bowl and Playoff subset cards and nine Checklists; 1982 Topps (1,500) – roughly ½ of the array mirrors the condition range of the other years, with the balance just a whisper below, closer to Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some above and below the range – with more than 100 Hall of Famers, including a Near-Mint-Plus Lawrence Taylor Rookie, plus Payton, Bradshaw (4), Harris (5), Lott Rookie (4 – two are VG), Munoz Rookie and Dorsett (3); also 50 Team Leaders, 15 League Leaders, three Checklists and 19 other Specials; 1983 Topps (3,600) – Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint blazers, producing about nine near or partial sets.
