Here are 16 complete sets of the iconic 1990 SkyBox Basketball issue, the company’s inaugural effort that captivated the basketball card collecting hobby with an elegant, gold/bronze border glossy card set that proved to be one of the most successful debut efforts in the hobby. The offered group is in precisely the same condition as when it rolled off the presses 32 years ago, which is to say Near-Mint to Mint or better blazers, with the Tier One Hall of Famers and superstars conforming to the wider condition range. There are perhaps a handful of cards where that pesky gold/bronze border flakes a bit from sticking; for those keeping score at home, at 300 cards per First Series set, that’s 4,800 pristine cards from an epic, groundbreaking basketball issue looking exactly the way God, or at least the folks at the fledgling company SkyBox, intended.
