Presented is a simply outstanding array of the difficult 1935 Detroit Free Press Tigers Premiums, a complete set at 18 with an additional card of Joe Louis. The 9-by-11-inch premiums feature colorized black-and-white photography, with blazing background colors of different hues and red, green and blue “frames” that nicely set off the images. The complete set (plus Louis) is in a remarkably consistent mostly Ex-Mt condition, with perhaps a couple falling below to Excellent, but overall an amazingly uniform and consistent presentation. The unnumbered premiums were issued every Sunday with the newspaper from late April to late August and feature a sterling lineup of four Hall of Famers and major stars from the period, headlining the Detroit Dynasty that managed to wriggle its way into the record books despite the behemoth in The Bronx. The lineup: Auker, Bridges, Clifton, Cochrane, Crowder, Fox, Gehringer, Goslin, Greenberg, Hayworth, Hogsett, Owen, Rogell, Rowe, Sorrell, Sullivan, Walker and White.
