Presented here is a great opportunity to pick up a nice, collectible example of a popular early 1960’s Topps issue, the brutally condition-sensitive 1962 baseball set with wood-grain borders that so easily reveal even the slightest bit of wear. With that caveat, the offered set is in a bit better condition than this issue is typically found in older collections, essentially Very Good to Ex-Mt, with the bulk of the group divided between Very Good, Excellent and Ex-Mt, with more than 20 percent being Ex-Mt or better. It comes to six percent Near-Mint, 13 percent Ex-Mt, 25 percent Excellent, 43 percent Very Good and 10 percent Good, with about two percent falling below the range. In an intriguing side note, the vast majority of the Near-Mint cards turn up in the difficult Seventh Series where there are a couple of significant stretches of highly attractive Ex-Mt to Near-Mint cards. In short, it’s a chance to pick up a collector-grade example of a particularly challenging vintage Topps issue. The set also includes 11 of the difficult variations, an array that is pretty evenly divided between Good and Very Good condition and includes: Series One Checklist, Walls, Angels Team, Hoeft, Reniff, Kunkel, Willey, Yost, Moon, Buhl and Tasby.
