This is an imposing group of primarily Topps football cards from the early 1950s to 1970, a hefty array of varying conditions that boasts literally hundreds of Hall of Famers, stars, Rookies and Specials, with a lineup that often touches some of the legendary figures from two decades of enormous growth in the National (and American) Football League. Here’s a breakdown: 1) 1952 Wheaties (3) – Graham and Lujack Action and Fears Portrait; 2) Early 1950s Bowman (6) – Good to Very Good, with some below, including the likes of Van Brocklin, Hirsch, Fears (2) and Walker (2); 3) 1955 Topps All American (62); 4) 1956 Topps (7) – including Brown, Moore, Tittle, McElhenny (2) and Ameche (2); 5) 1957 Topps (146) – Very Good to Excellent, with some below, including Blanda (2); 6) 1958-68 Topps and Philadelphia Gum (380) – Very Good to Ex-Mt, with some below, including dozens of Hall of Famers; 7) 1969 Topps (275) – Good to Very Good, with some above and below, with group of Hall of Famers closer to Excellent to Ex-Mt, including Namath, Starr, Sayers, Nitschke (2), Meredith, Dawson, Hayes, Kelly and Csonka; 8) 1970 Topps (800) – Very Good to Ex-Mt, with some below; 9) 1971 (750) – Very Good to Ex-Mt, with some below, including Namath and Simpson; 10) 1972 Topps (175) – Excellent to Near-Mint, with some below; 11) 1973 Topps (135) – Excellent to Near-Mint, with some below; 12) 1974 Topps (175) – Excellent to Near-Mint, with some below; 13) 1975 (550) – Excellent to Near-Mint, with some below, many HOFers; 14) 1976 Topps (275) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint or better, many Hall of Famers; 15) 1974-76 Topps Wonder Bread (90) – Good to Very Good; 16) 1969 Topps 4-in-1 (75) – separated, with some affixed in 11 albums; 17) 1970 Topps Football Game (80) – present Near-Mint, but more than ½ are (mk) from small pen notation on the backs, with four (4) Namath's (mk); and 18) Assorted 1950s Extras (75).
