Following up after its American Football League issue from the previous year, Fleer added the National Football League to its lineup in 1961, producing a 220-card set that is found here nearly complete in a bit wider condition range than typically encountered in mature collections, mostly Good to Ex-Mt condition, with a handful of cards above to Near-Mint and below the range to Fair. There are about two dozen extra cards included in the mix, mostly from upgrades. About 25 percent of the group has the kind of centering that might prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation. Overall, the near set comes out 5 percent Near-Mint, 29 percent Ex-Mt, 15 percent Excellent, 29 percent Very Good, 13 percent Good and 7 percent Fair. The five missing cards: No. 2, 8, 11 Brown, 92 and 155 Kemp.
