Offered is a high-grade example of an important mid-1960s football card issue, the 1967 Philadelphia Gum set that depicted players from the National Football League at a time when Topps had stepped back from the veteran circuit to focus for several years on the fledgling American Football League. The set presents in a uniform and consistent fashion, essentially Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with about ½ dozen cards falling below Excellent. It comes out to approximately 45 percent being Near-Mint, 48 percent Ex-Mt and five percent Excellent. The six missing numbers: No. 1, 35 Sayers, 94, 132, 185 Jurgensen and 188.
