This is an absolutely stunning array of pristine cards from 1977 and 1978 Topps Football, an assortment as notable for its massive proportions as it is for the Hall of Fame roster that numbers into the hundreds and includes many of the legendary figures from the era. Obviously, the hoard features enormous duplication, even of the Hall of Famers and Specials; as noted, the condition is essentially Near-Mint to Mint, with a few below, and a pronounced vending bend that bespeaks of uncirculated cardboard. Here’s the breakdown: 1977 (2,000) – with 175 Hall of Famers, 10 Checklist cards and 110 Team Checklists (six Kansas City Chiefs and six Dallas Cowboys); 1978 (3,000) – with an estimated 200 Hall of Famers, including four Staubachs, two Dorsett Rookies, four Tarkentons and six Too Tall Jones, plus 150 Team Leader cards and seven Checklists.
