This is an intriguing accumulation of upper-grade O-Pee-Chee hockey cards from mostly the 1970s and 1980s, an array that features hundreds of Hall of Famers and stars, most notably from the years with 100 or more cards, often with considerable duplication, sometimes very significant in the larger groups. Condition ranges are listed for the 1970s; by the 1980s, most are Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint. Here’s the breakdown with estimated numbers: 1) 1969 (22) – most are Near-Mint, with some below; 2) 1970 (50) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below; 3) 1971 (44) – Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some above and below; 4) 1972 (20) – most Near-Mint, with some below; 5) 1973 (40) – Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some above and below; 6) 1974 (46) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below; 7) 1976 (400) – most are Near-Mint to Mint, some below; 8) 1977 (700); 9) 1978 (20); 10) 1981 (40); 11) 1982 (36); 12) 1983 (1,200); 13) 1984 (110); 14) 1985 (630); 15) 1986 (1,200); and 16) 1989 (970) – including No. 156 Gretzky (11) and No. 1 Lemieux (16).
