March 30, 2023: Spring Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/30/2023
Presented is an empty case from 1973 Topps Baseball, an important Topps issue that marked the end of the company’s long-running protocol of releasing the cards by series of the course of the spring and summer. The empty case at one time boasted the presence of 24 boxes of 24 packs each that sold for a mere 10-Cents each. The box presents in Fair condition, with a couple of corner tears, flap damage and modest paper loss; comes with a 7 ½-by-3 ½-inch Topps mailing label addressing the case to the legendary Larry Fritsch in Stevens Point, Wis. That’s the kind of provenance that collectors like, linking an important Topps artifact to arguably the most prolific collector in hobby history.
