Here’s one of the cool non-mainstream baseball card issues from the 1960s, the 1961 Golden Press 33-card “set,” found here in an uncommon form in the complete booklet with unperforated cards. The 7 ¼-by-13-inch booklet includes all 33 cards of Hall of Fame Baseball Stars in their unperforated glory, with the cards on the front (Ruth, Ott and Alexander) and back covers (Lajoie, Wagner and Young) broadly in Fair condition from the light scuffing that the booklets suffered at newsstand locations. The inside pages are better, generally Very Good to Excellent, with some above, including Near-Mint examples of Mathewson, DiMaggio and Cobb, plus a Very Good Gehrig. There is some rust to the staples at the center, which barely detracts from the presentation in any significant fashion. All in all, it’s a great opportunity to pick up a popular artifact from six decades ago in its pristine form.
