Here’s a chance to pick up the last four Topps baseball sets from the end of the decade of the 1970s, an array that looks much as it must have when first off the presses almost a half century ago, which is to say at a minimum Near-Mint or better, with all four boasting exceptional color and gloss. In all four sets, the Hall of Famers, stars and keys generally conform to the wider condition range, with the handful of outliers noted below. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1976 Topps Baseball (660, plus the 44-card Traded subset) – primarily Near-Mint to Mint, with perhaps a couple Ex-Mt and maybe ¼ or so with the kind of centering that might typically prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation. There are also a half dozen or so miscuts; the Eckersley Rookie card is an outlier with a Good description; 2) 1977 Topps Baseball (660) – mostly Near-Mint or better, with quite a few sections of Near-Mint to Mint and a handful below to Ex-Mt; 3) 1978 Topps (726) – mostly Near-Mint or better, with a few Ex-Mt and the Murray Rookie card VG-Ex; and 4) 1979 Topps (726) – primarily Near-Mint to Mint, with a few Ex-Mt cards.
