Offered is a sharp jersey from one of the National League’s top pitchers in the 1960s and 1970s, a home pinstripe Cubs shirt from the final year of his distinguished 15-year career. The shirt has the 1-inch blue V-neck collar, 1 ½-inch blue sleeve accents, with the famed 6 ½-inch in diameter Cubs logo on the left chest and Cubs patch on the left sleeve. Wilson Size 46 labeling appears at the collar, with adjacent team swatch tag with “44 77 1 46” in royal-blue chain stitching; a tail swatch with “77” is also present. There has been a number change, likely from No. 44 or No. 46 to No. 35 after Giusti’s retirement at the end of the 1977 campaign. Giusti was a solid starter for several seasons for the Astros, then ultimately moved to the bullpen, leading the National League in Saves for the Pirates in 1971 with 30. He ended his career with a 100-93 log, with a 3.60 ERA and 145 Saves.
