1975-1980s Minor League Game-Worn Jerseys Group (9)

Presented are nine game-worn jerseys from a wide range of minor-league ball clubs, including several with links to earlier major-league incarnations. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1977 Tulsa road jersey, with provenance traced to 1975 as a major-league shirt worn by Texas Rangers coach Dick Gernert. The light-blue knit has the two-button collar, with blue/white/red ribbed knit collar and red, white and blue sleeve-end striping. It has the interlocking “Tulsa” in red-on-white on blue tackle twill, with Rangers patch on sleeve removed. The No. 47 on the back is red on white on blue tackle twill, with NOB removed but remnants showing “Gernert.” The Rawlings Size 46 label is on the inner tail, with team swatch of “47 75” in blue chain link stitching on light-blue fabric. The 1975 road Rangers jersey was worn by Gernert in 1975-76, then sent to Tulsa with the birth of the Drillers in 1977.; 2) Late 1970s Oakland A’s dark-green knit minor-league jersey, with player unknown. It has yellow/green.yellow ribbed knit V-neck collar, with two-color, five-stripe sleeve-end accents, with two-color screened-on A’s and No. 46. It has the Rawlings Size 44 label.; 3) 1979 Miami Amigos green-knit pullover jersey, with yellow/red V-neck striping and red/yellow/green sleeve-end striping. It has two-color “Miami Amigos” with yellow/red, red/yellow tackle twill identifiers. The Rawlings Size 40 label is on the front-right tail; the club played one season in the Triple-A Inter-American League, winning the title with a 51-21 record before the circuit folded.; 4) Late 1970s Oakland A’s minor-league affiliate mesh jersey, with highly sheened green mesh, ribbed-knit stretch V-neck collar and screened-on identifiers of A’s and No. 24 in white with yellow trim. The light-weight cotton shirt has knit sleeve stripe accents, with six stripes – three yellow, three green. It has the Rawlings Size 44 label.; 5) Early 1980s Reno Silver Sox/Padres home jersey, with white V-neck pullover front, No. 25 screened on front and back in brown and yellow, and “Reno” underscored in the same fashion. It has the ¾-inch yellow/brown/yellow sleeve accents, with Russell Athletic Size L tagging.; 6) Early 1980s Dave Miley Wichita Aeros (Reds) road grey knit jersey, linked to Miley in 1984, who would become the Reds manager in 2003-2005. The shirt has the red/white/red finely ribbed knit, rounded V-neck collar, with red/white sleeve-end accents and rounded tail. The Wilson Size 40 label appears at the collar; shirt is in nice condition and does not show excessive minor-league use.; 7) 1982-85 El Paso Diablos home pinstripe knit jersey, spongy red jersey with red/yellow/red braid V-neck with vertical red/yellow/red shoulder braid. “El Paso” and No. 26 screened on to the front in two-color red on old gold. “diablos” is screened on the back in lower case, with back number screened on and then sewn over in red-on-old gold tackle twill. A well-worn Goodman’s Six 46 label is at the tail.; 8) 1983 Salinas Mariners road jersey, originally a Seattle Mariners shirt linked to pitcher Roy Thomas. The light-blue knit shirt has dark-royal finely ribbed knit V-neck and yellow/dark royal shoulder braid. It has the triple-color front and back numerals, with “Seattle” removed from the front and covered with knit plate with screened-on “Salinas.” The NOB has been removed from the upper back of the jersey; it has the Wilson Size 44 collar label, with cloth flap tag for customization indecipherable. A tail swatch of “49 83” is navy chain-link stitched on light blue.; and 9) Mid-1990s Butte Copper Kings road jersey, with V-neck front on a heavy grey knit. “Butte” is underscored script with royal blue-on-white twill. Numerals are sewn on in in identical color scheme. The Rawlings Size 46 outer-tail tagging appears, along with collar Rawlings flap tag. The shirt shows solid wear.
