Presented is an attractive array of vintage bobbin head dolls from 1961-73, including the Senators, Twins, Expos and a pair of Angels figures. Here’s the breakdown: 1) Washington Senators Bobbin Head Doll from the 1961-63 White Base Series, displaying a superb paint job with exceptional colors and gloss. The six-inch, square-base figure has virtually none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures; the “Washington” decal across the front of the base reveals only the barest bit of chipping across a single letter. The statue presents in Near-Mint fashion with uncommonly crisp and vivid paint strokes on the team name on the front and in uniform accents.; 2) Twins Bobbin Head Doll is from the 1972-73 Wedge Base Series, a Near-Mint specimen that boasts exceptional color and gloss. The six-inch figure sports an exceptional paint job, with almost none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures. The statue is particularly sharp, with vivid, bright colors and crisp, elegant painting lines. It is difficult to imagine finding a more pristine example of this important vintage bobbin head.; 3) Montreal Expos Bobbin Head Doll is from the 1969-72 Gold Base Series, an Excellent specimen that boasts exceptional color and gloss. There is some loss to the “M” decal on the cap. This is an important artifact commemorating the historic occasion of Major League Baseball coming to Canada, the first MLB team to be located outside the United States.; and 4) A pair of the California Angels Bobbin Head Dolls from the 1961-63 White Base and 1962 Green Base Series, displaying excellent painting with vivid colors and gloss. The seven-inch, round-base figure has almost none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures; the White Base figure is similarly outstanding and without chipping; the “Angels” decal across the front is similarly outstanding and without chipping, matching the “LA” decal on the cap and the “Los Angeles” decal on the green base. Both statues present in Near-Mint fashion, but there is no team name decal on the White Base front, with light pen writing of “California” barely visible only with the most careful examination.
