This is a striking group of bobbin heads from the St. Louis Cardinals (2), the Kansas City Athletics and the Oakland A’s. We'll start with a pair of the popular St. Louis Cardinals Bobbin Head Dolls from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series, Very Good specimens that display excellent color and gloss but one with some issues with paint chipping and some cracks. The six-inch, square-base figure has a rather significant crack to the back of the head of the Redbird, some chipping of the delicate paint and very modest loss to the “StL” decal on the cap. The second figure has some issues with paint chipping that touches on both the figure itself and the delicate gold base. The six-inch, round-base figure has a good deal of chipping of the delicate paint and very modest loss to the “StL” decal on the cap and a miniscule nick on the “Cardinals” decal across the front of the shirt. 1963 Kansas City and 1967 Oakland A’s Bobbin Head Dolls (2) - Presented is a simply outstanding example of the iconic Kansas City Athletics Bobbin Head Dolls from the 1963-66 Green Base Series and a 1967-72 Oakland A’s Bobbin Head. The Kansas City figure is a Near-Mint specimen that boasts exceptional colors and gloss. The six-inch, round-base figure can lay claim to a superb paint job, with virtually none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures. There is only the tiniest of nicks on the “KC” decal on the cap, visible only with the most careful examination, and not so much as even a whisper of difficulty with the delicate “Athletics” decal across the chest or the “Kansas City” decal at the front of the green base. The Oakland A’s Bobbin Head Doll from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series is an Excellent specimen which displays good color and gloss but some paint chipping and minor loss to some of the delicate decals. The seven-inch, round-base figure has some chipping of the green paint on the brim of the cap and barely a whisper on the base and very modest loss to the “A” decal on the cap and the “Oakland” decal on the Gold Base.
