This is an intriguing array of vintage bobbin head dolls from the Mets, Phillies and Pirates. The New York Mets Bobbin Head Doll is from the 1963-66 Green Base Series and boasts excellent colors and gloss and only the barest whisper of toning. The six-inch, round-base figure reveals virtually none of the dreaded chipping that is so common. There is only the tiniest of nicks on the iconic script “Mets” decal on the front of the shirt, visible only with the most careful examination, and not so much as even a whisper of difficulty with the delicate “New York” decal at the front of the green base. The Philadelphia Phillies Bobbin Head is from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series and is in Excellent condition, boasting exceptional colors and gloss and a truly outstanding paint job, with only a smattering of the dreaded chipping. There is only the tiniest of nicks on the “P” decal on the cap, visible only with the most careful examination. The final piece is the charming Pittsburgh Pirates Bobbin Head also from the 1967-72 Gold Base Series, an Ex-Mt specimen that boasts excellent color and gloss. The six-inch, round-base figure sports a truly outstanding paint job, with almost none of the dreaded chipping that is part and parcel of so many of these vintage treasures, save only for some tiny nicks on the gold base. As noted, the painting is superb, with detailed crisp lines on the famed Pirates cap, right down to the intricate gold skull-and-crossbones on the front.
