This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2023
Presented is a game-worn Cincinnati Reds road flannel linked to one of the beloved players from the standout Reds ball clubs in the 1960s, Vada Pinson. The shirt bears No. 26, changed from the original No. 28, which was Pinson’s number. The NOB has been removed, with outline remnants of Pinson’s original NOB still visible. The No. 2 front and back are original, with the replacement “6” amateurishly affixed. The “CINCINNATI” on the front is original and slightly faded. The MacGregor label is missing from the collar, with faded MacGregor “1967 Set 1” label on the inner button path. The speedster Pinson was a legitimate Hall of Fame candidate, compiling 2,757 hits and 256 home runs (and 305 stolen bases) and for many years setting the table for teammate Frank Robinson. Pinson also had four seasons of 200-plus hits and led the National League in triples twice.
