Here’s a chance to pick up an imposing pile of pristine, virtually as-issued Topps baseball sets from the closing years of its fabled 25-year monopoly in the baseball card business, a seven-year run from 1979-85, plus a 1993 set and a couple of boxed sets from 2000. The only set that falls short of complete and absolutely pristine condition is 1979, which is still broadly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint and missing the Ozzie Smith Rookie and the second-year Paul Molitor. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1979 Topps Near Set (704/726) – Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with some below and a number of off-centers, with Hall of Famers and keys generally within the wider condition range. As noted, Smith’s Rookie and the second-year Molitor are among the missing.; 2) 1980 Topps (725, missing Henderson RC) – Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, really sharp set with good color and gloss and keys that conform to the wider condition range.; 3) 1981 (726) – sets from 1981-85 are Near-Mint to Mint, with a few Near-Mints, all with Hall of Famers and keys that conform to the wider range.; 4) 1982 Topps (792); 5) 1983 Topps (792); 6) 1984 Topps (792); 7) 1985 Topps (792); 8) 1993 Topps Factory Set in original cellophane (825); 9) 2000 Topps Traded & Rookies (135) in original box and cellophane; and 10) 2000 Bowman Draft Picks Update (110) in original box and cellophane.
