This is an intriguing lot of three disparate jerseys from decades past: a minor-league shirt and a genuinely unique Pirates bat boy garment, along with a generic football jersey from the late 1960s or early 1970s, all with game-worn status. Here’s the breakdown: 1) 1975 Pirates batboy road knit jersey, a seldom-seen offering in battleship grey spongy knit, with gold and black ribbed-knit round-neck collar, along with gold, white and black sleeve accents. “Pirates” is on the front in black-on-gold tackle twill in the appropriate 1960s and 1970s team font; “Batboy” is sewn in vertical arch to the shirt’s back. Wilson Size 38 tail label is present, along with knit team swatch of “Batboy 75” that matches calligraphy exemplars. The rarely seen or offered jersey reveals solid, season-long wear.; 2) Mid-1970s Tucson Toros (A’s) green knit jersey in Oakland Athletics style. The dark, Kelly-green knit pullover has the custom-cut V-neck collar in yellow/white/yellow braid, with all identifiers in two-color white-on-yellow tackle twill. On the back the No. 22 is jostled by extensive damage to one of the “2s,” with one layer disengaged by 50 percent. Goodman labeling appears at the tail along with Size 42 straight stitched in green.; and 3) Circa late 1960s or early 1970s Generic white football jersey. The lightweight knit jersey is likely from a high school or small-college team, with sewn-on front and back No. 63 and screened-on sleeve numbers. It has a blue, round collar and sleeve-end accents, screened-on sleeve stripes and sewn-on shoulder inserts.
