This is a really cool throwback jersey that commemorates the school’s 200th anniversary and more specifically the first college baseball game in 1859. The heavy wool flannel throwback jersey has the 13-button outer front and four-button inner-front button vertical placement, along with long sleeves with buttoned edge. On the front is “1859” in red felt, with “Amherst” and No. 3 on the back, also in red felt. An intricate straight-stitched 3-by-3 ¾-inch patch notes “1776-1976, First College Baseball Game (Amherst vs. Williams) 1859 at Amherst Field, Pittsfield, Mass.”
