Here’s an intriguing uncut sheet (paper version) of one of the coveted non-sport issues from World War II that was designed to promote the country’s anticipated intervention into the global conflict. The 19-by-10-inch paper sheet pictures 24 of the 2 ½-by-3 1/8-inch “cards,” in this instance the first 24 cards in the 96-card set. While technically Poor because of two sections on the sheet that touch four different cards, the sheet actually presents in VG-Ex fashion. This is a spectacular artifact from a legendary issue produced only months before the attack on Pearl Harbor prompted the United States’ entry into World War II.
