Here is what is easily the most condition-sensitive Topps baseball insert issue of the postwar era, the gold-leaf 1965 Embossed set that features 2 1/8-by-3 ½-inch with raised portraits of National League and American League stars. In a sparkling set that is entirely Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, five cards that have been slabbed by PSA provide a nice glimpse into the wider condition range: No. 10 Romano – PSA 6, No. 26 Mathews – PSA 7, No. 38 Allen – PSA 7, No. 47 Boyer – PSA 7 and No. 67 Ellsworth – PSA 7. Overall, the full set comes out to 40 percent Near-Mint, 25 percent Ex-Mt-Plus and 35 percent Ex-Mt. The breakdown of keys: No. 11 Mantle – Ex-Mt, No. 12 Torre – Near-Mint, No. 13 Kaline – Ex-Mt, No. 15 Drysdale – Ex-Mt, No. 19 Clemente – Nr-Mt, No. 22 Frank Robinson – Ex-Mt, No. 23 Mazeroski – Ex-Mt-Plus, No. 25 Santo – Nr-Mt, No. 27 Mays – Ex-Mt o/c, No. 40 Williams – Nr-Mt, No. 45 Cepeda – Ex-Mt, No. 56 Killebrew – Ex-Mt-Plus, No. 58 Banks – Ex-Mt-Plus, No. 59 Aaron – Ex-Mt-Plus and No. 69 Gibson – Ex-Mt.
