Presented is a nice partial set of the popular “burlap” 1968 Topps Baseball set, an array that features almost five dozen Hall of Famers, including multiples of many of the key cards in the issue, plus a host of stars and Specials and 122 High Numbers. There is some duplication in a group that is broadly Excellent to Near-Mint, with some above and below the range. All cards listed are the player’s regular-issue version unless otherwise noted. The breakdown of keys: Mantle (2) – Fair and Good, Aaron (2) – Excellent, Mays – Good, Bench Rookie – Good, Rose (2) – VG-Ex-Plus, Yastrzemski (2), Drysdale (3), Frank Robinson, Carew – Fair, Killebrew (2), Oliva, Palmer (2), Brooks Robinson (3, one is Fair), Maris (3), Gibson, Brock, Carlton, Cepeda, Banks, Williams, Santo (2), Jenkins (2), Kaline (2), Stargell (3, one is Fair), Perry (5), Perez, Morgan, Mathews, Aparicio, Durocher, Wilhelm, Alston, Colavito (4), Felipe Alou (3), Elston Howard (4), Frank Howard (2), Lonborg (4), Flood (2), Allen (2), Wills (2), McLain, Cash, Horton (2), Lolich (2), Brown and 10 Team cards. When it’s all said and done, the lot represents a great opportunity to launch on a complete set with a boatload of extra HOFers and stars for maneuvering.
