This is a neat offering for vintage New York Mets fans, a complete set of the campy little 2 1/2-inch figurines that commemorated the club’s historic World Series title from 1969. The plastic pieces were sold in boxes of three, with three “cards” of the same players part of the back of the box, cards that arguably became more widely known than the figures. No cards with this lot, but all figures are included here, with pieces in Ex-Mt to Near-Mint condition; one figure (Weis) is missing the player’s name and Mets script decals. Players in the set include (15): Ryan, Seaver, Koosman, McGraw, Jones, Swoboda, Grote, Clendenon, Kranepool, Shamsky, Agee, Harrelson, Weis, Boswell and Gentry.
