Presented here is a complete set of the fabled 1961 Post Cereal Baseball issue, found here in broadly Good to Very Good, with some above and below the range for those cards reasonably well cut, a fairly typical qualifier for an issue that so strenuously taxed the scissoring skills of a generation of American youth. In addition to the Post set there is a special 8 ½-by-11-inch album included and a Mickey Mantle Corn Flakes box front. The 1961 set was the first of three years that Post put baseball cards on the boxes of their many cereals, and thus it was the start of the need for adequate cutting abilities. The album mentioned above is 22 pages and is in Fair condition; the Mantle Corn Flakes 7 ½-by-11 ¼-inch box front is Excellent-Plus. The cards listed below are for Hall of Famers, stars and keys, plus some anomalies that fall outside the condition range. The breakdown: No. 1 Berra – Good, 4 Mantle – Very Good, 6 Ford - Excellent-Plus, 7 Maris – Ex-Mt, 19 Aparicio – undersized, 20 Fox – Fair, 21 and 27 are a two-card panel, 22 Wynn – undersized, 25 Minoso – Poor, 33 Kaline – Ex-Mt (tight cut), 75 Brooks Robinson – Ex-Mt, 101 Spahn – VG, 105 Mathews – undersized, 107 Aaron – Poor, 117 Roberts – Fair, 121 Herrera – Autograph, 125 Friend – Autograph, 128 Mazeroski – Poor, 131 Skinner – Autograph, 132 Clemente – VG-Ex, 133 Face – Autograph, 136 Cimoli – Autograph, 139 Smith – Autograph, 142 – mk, 145 Mays – Fair, 147 McCovey – undersized, 160 Drysdale – Good, 164 Wills – Autograph, 161 Snider – VG, 168 Hodges – Good, 180 Smith – Autograph, 182 Frank Robinson – undersized and 191 Banks – VG.
