Here’s a pristine pile of mostly 1979 Topps Football cards that would seem to be essentially as-issued gems, a Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint monster, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum. With blazing, vivid colors and outstanding gloss, the set is seemingly unimprovable, as the listing of the keys suggests. The breakdown: No. 50 Guy – Near-Mint, 308 Newsome Rookie – Nr-Mt, 310 Lofton Rookie – Nr-Mt-Plus, 340 Campbell Rookie - Nr-Mt-Plus, 400 Staubach – Excellent-Plus, 411 Shell Rookie – Nr-Mt to Mt, 489 Payton – Nr-Mt o/c and 500 Bradshaw – Nr-Mt to Mt. A final piece of the lot despite seemingly unrelated matches the 1979 Topps set in the condition department: a 1990 Fleer Football Update Set (100) in the unopened box in original cellophane.
