Presented is easily the finest 1960 Topps Baseball issue we’ve ever handled, a complete monster with a total of 382 cards slabbed and third-party graded, with a whopping 366 of those in glistening PSA 8 holders, and a handful of others from SGC even higher than that. Virtually all of the key Hall of Famers have been thusly slabbed, including 19 PSA 8’s, and the few below that aren’t far away. A mere 190 or so cards remain in raw form, with most of those neatly conforming with their PSA 8-slabbed counterparts. Indeed, many of the raw cards are just as compelling as the slabbed ones, with uncommonly vivid and crisp colors, with sharp photography and clean, consistent backs. In the listings that follow, the player’s regular-issue Topps card is shown unless indicated otherwise. Here’s a breakdown of keys: Mantle – SGC 5, Mantle All-Star – SGC 84, Aaron – SGC 6, Aaron All-Star – PSA 7, Clemente – SGC 5, Mays – PSA 7, Mays All-Star – SGC 7, Yastrzemski Rookie (CTA 7), Banks – SGC 7, Gibson – SGC 6.5, McCovey Rookie – PSA 7, and Berra – PSA 7; Hall of Famers in PSA 8 holders – Koufax, Killebrew, Mathews, Spahn (SGC 88), Drysdale, Cepeda, Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Ford, Herzog, Fox, Kaat Rookie, Aparicio, Musial, Hodges, Ashburn, Wilhem and Schoendienst, plus 14 All-Stars from the High Series (14), including Mathews, Kaline, Maris, Drysdale, Aparicio, Pierce and Antonelli; also No. 7 Master & Mentor, and Rival All-Stars. Under the heading of leaving the best for last, sort of, we’ll mention four pristine commons from the difficult High Series: No. 507 Stigman, No. 539 Baker, No. 541 Curry and No. 542 Hamlin, all four in SGC 92 holders. Not too shabby. Try to find another 1960 Topps set with this kind of pedigree. Here's the breakdown: 1960 Topps PSA Registry set
