Presented is an empty case from Topps (by way of Larry Fritsch Cards) that once housed 24 boxes of 1972 Topps Football cards, the company’s final and most famous high series in football. With a lore and legacy not dissimilar to the legendary baseball high numbers exactly two decades earlier, the 1972 Topps Football High Numbers were lightly distributed at the time of their issue and only leaked into the hobby years later. The most famous source has always been Larry Fritsch Cards, noted on this 22-by-9-inch empty case (8 ½ inches wide) with a mailing label at one end of the box, which is in arguably Good condition, revealing the expected wear from handling, like tape residue and the expected corner wear.
