Presented is one of the true rarities from the famed tobacco era of last quarter of the 19th century and first two decades of the 20th, the massive, oversized 1913-16 Fatima Cigarettes Posters that featured many of the legendary figures of the era. Hall of Famer Walter Johnson is pictured on this 12 ½-by-19-inch black-and-white photography that is neatly complemented by a full-color image of a pack of the sponsor’s smokes that seemingly accents the elegance of the piece. Three compartmentalized photos tell the story of a 1916 Johnson victory over the Yankees. This example presents in Good condition but has extensive back damage from having been affixed to another surface, along with some pinholes, and creases and small tears.
