Offered is a spectacular searched vending box of perhaps Topps’ most unusual and iconic basketball issue, the unique tri-card set from 1980-81 that boasts some of the most important and expensive Rookie cards extant, namely Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. As might be expected, Bird and Magic were instant casualties of the search, but left behind in brilliant, pristine fashion, are nearly 200 Hall of Famers, including many of the biggest names in the game, like Kareem, Erving, Maravich, Walton and literally dozens more, often turning up with significant duplication. In addition to the regular-issue cards of Hall of Famers, there are 125 cards of HOFer League Leaders and another couple of dozen in the All-Star card subset. Included in the mix is a single slabbed card, a Bird Rebound Leader/Bridgeman/Brewer example in a PSA 8 holder, providing a nice glimpse into the wider condition range of its raw counterparts. Here’s a partial listing of some of the keys (cards are the player’s regular-issue card unless otherwise indicated): Hall of Famers – Kareem (3), Maravich (5), Erving (5), Walton (5), Hayes (4), Gilmore (4), Malone (4), Barry (3) and multiples of virtually the rest of the HOF group, including Archibald, Bibby, Birdsong, Cheeks, Cowens, Dantley, Davis, Dandridge, English, Gerving, Issel, Marques Johnson, Dennis Johnson, Jones, Lanier, Maxwell, McAdoo, McGinnis, Moncrief, Monroe, Murphy, Parish, Scott, Thompson, Wilkes and Williams.
