This might be regarded as an old-time auction lot, a massive two-part offering that yields hundreds of key vintage Topps cards from the 1960s and 1970s, with one component including quite literally hundreds of key mainstream cards of Hall of Famers. The Hall of Famer group, with cards generally in Ex to Ex-Mt condition, with some above and below, provides a rare opportunity to pick up a huge number of cards from many of the greats of the game in an unusual bulk situation. The Hall of Famers group (265) typically involves the player’s regular-issue primary Topps card, with exceptions noted. Here’s the breakdown: Henry Aaron (7) – 1974 No. 1 (Ex), 1974 No. 3 and No. 6, 1975 No. 1 (Nr-Mt), and 1976 No. 1 (Ex-Mt); Ernie Banks – 1961 MVP; Lou Brock (7) – 1968-70, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1976; George Brett – 1975 Topps Rookie card (Ex-Mt); Steve Carlton (13) – 1968, 1971 (3), 1972, 1975 (5), 1976, 1977 and 1981 Donruss; Dawson (23) – 1977 (Good), 1978 (2), 1979 (9, Nr-Mt) and 1980 (11, Nr-Mt); Bob Gibson (5) – all 1972; Killebrew (7) – 1958 (Good), 1972, 1972 In Action, 1973 (3) and 1975; Mays (2) – 1972 In Action; McCovey (4) – 1970 (VG), 1973 (Ex), and 1974 (2); Morgan (12) – 1967 (3, Good to VG), 1969 (3, VG to Ex-Mt), 1971, 1973 (4); Eddie Murray (28) – 1978 (3), 1979 (14), and 1980 (11); Frank Robinson (7) – 1968 All-Star, 1971. 1972, and 1974 (4); Pete Rose (5) – 1971 (VG), 1976, 1979, 1980 Highlights and 1986 No. 2; Nolan Ryan (18) – 1975 (2, VG, Ex-Mt), 1977,1978 (4), 1980 (6), 1981 Donruss (2) and 1982 Donruss (2); Mike Schmidt (15) – 1975 (4), 1978 (3), and 1979 (8); Seaver (6) – 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1976 (2); Yastrzemski (8) – 1963, 1972 (VG), 1972 In Action, 1975 (2, VG and Ex), 1976 and 1979; Yount (31) – 1978 (5), 1979 (13), 1980 (12), and 1981 Donruss; plus four or five dozen miscellaneous others, mostly Hall of Famers or stars, in generally same condition range, including Aparicio (6), Carew (2), Fingers (9), Fisk (4), Ford (2), Fox (2), 1966 Topps Don Sutton Rookie, 1978 Molitor Rookie and (2) 1974 Topps Winfield Rookies, plus cards from Ozzie Smith, Billy Williams, Hoyt Wilhelm, Garvey and Stargell. The larger component (approximately 2,300) is year-to-year groupings of Topps vintage cards, often with some stars and minor stars and specials, with general condition ranges noted. The breakdown: 1953 Topps (38): The most important segment is offered here in a condition generally a good deal better than how these cards are typically found, mostly VG to Ex, with some below – 7, 8, 11, 33, 38, 39, 45, 46, 48, 55, 57, 59, 65, 89, 90, 95, 98, 103, 108, 112, 118, 123, 129, 130, 161, 163, 166, 171, 173, 175, 183, 186, 190, 198, 199, 204, 208, 209 and 218; 1954 Topps (26) Mostly Good to Very Good, with some below – 28, 47, 49, 78, 81, 84, 89, 100, 111, 113, 114, 115, 123, 131, 133, 135, 142, 146, 147, 178, 181, 188, 196, 213, 216 and 241; 1955 Topps (15), largely Ex to Ex-Mt – 6, 11, 17, 18, 32, 45, 46, 57, 68, 71, 72, 74, 79, 144 and 148; Miscellaneous Bowmans 1951-55 (22), mostly Poor to Ex, with bulk Good to Very Good, including 1954 Roberts (Fair), 1954 Reese (Good) and 1955 Wynn (Ex); 1956 Topps (60), a really nice consistent look, generally Ex to Ex-Mt – 54, 71, 72, 86, 92, 93, 94, 96, 97, 98, 102, 103, 105, 106, 108, 112, 114, 116, 117, 122, 123, 124, 126, 127, 128, 129, 131, 132, 133, 136, 137, 138, 141, 142, 144, 149, 151, 152, 153, 154, 157, 158, 159, 161, 162, 163, 167, 168, 169, 171, 174, 176, 179, 196, 197, 201, 286 and 322; 1957 Topps (25), mostly Ex-Mt, with some below, including eight of the difficult middle series – 14, 22, 26, 31, 39, 41, 47, 52, 57, 58, 71, 128, 211, 239, 248, 255, 297, 303, 311, 331, 334, 349, 350, 352, and 359; 1958-59 Topps (50), mostly Good to Very Good; 1963 Topps (14), mostly Very Good to Ex, with some above and below – 449, 456, 461, 467, 474, 486, 492, 517, 521, 538, 541, 545, 548 and 549; 1964-65 Topps (60), mostly Good to Very Good; 1966 Topps (150), Good to Ex; 1967 Topps (200), Very Good to Ex; 1968 Topps (200), Very Good to Ex; 1969 (est. 500), Very Good to Ex; 1971 Topps (100), Good to Ex; 1972 Topps (est. 800), about half or so Good to Ex-Mt, couple hundred with water damage; 1975 Topps (50), Good to Very Good; and 1976 Topps (30), Good to Very Good.
