This is a sensational offering of a 1971 Topps Near-Set in very high grade, plus a huge pile of about 1,275 extras from the same, difficult, condition-sensitive issue. The near-set is largely Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt, with some below; a significant number of the key cards are missing, with the list below, along with a condition breakdown of some of the keys included. The near-set is highly uniform and consistent, with minimal chipping of the delicate black borders and a nice overall presentation. The lineup includes nearly two dozen Hall of Famers, a dozen League Leader cards, 22 World Series or Playoffs Specials, 37 Checklists and 56 Team Cards. It represents an extraordinary grouping that could be used to fill out or upgrade a significant number of 1971 partial sets; truly a rare opportunity to pick up such a huge number of nice condition cards from a difficult issue.
